I asked women around the world for their top swimwear picks—here’s what they love.
The sun is shining, the breeze is warm, and we’ve made it to that beautiful time of year when nothing really matters. These few days between Christmas and New Year’s feel like honey—smooth sailing, golden, and slow. I love spending this time lying in the sun, living in my bikini, reading, writing, and enjoying moments with family and friends.
Summer is glorious, and having a good pair of swimmers to live in during this season is a must. I recently spoke to some lovely women from around the world about their favourite swimwear brands, pieces, and cuts. Here’s what they had to say.
“My favorite brand is bright swimwear!…Citrus floral is my fav pattern!!”

My take: Flowers, bright colours, and cute side ties—this cutesy Y2K aesthetic print is summer perfection.
“I bought both of these brands after seeing Lucy Neville wear them; Modi Bodi and You Swim. I’m always between sizes so You Swim really appealed to me because there was no fuss with sizes, their philosophy is that the swimwear will fit your body as it naturally fluctuates in size. I bought these at Black Friday in the sale.”
My take: Love a textured swim set! This colourway is so sunny and vibrant, perfect for a pool day.
“The Modi Bodi pieces give my confidence to swim comfortable when I have my period. It’s such an innovative design, I’m very grateful for it. I’m looking at purchasing this sparkly one piece, imagine this with a cute skirt after the beach!”
My take: AH! The shimmer. Obsessed. The way this brand caters and innovates for women is unmatched.
“Well I've just worked with Cupshe AU, and my favourite piece is their reversible halterneck bikini top and bottom as there are so many different ways you can style and wear them. Plus their bikinis are so comfy and provide good coverage (if you know what i mean ahaha)”
My take: I love the cut of these bottoms– the hike is super flattering and the print is so cute and summery.
Chic, cute, flattering, and comfortable—GUD-Swim has perfected their timeless swimwear cuts. The brand focuses on creative pieces that suit a woman’s body while keeping the earth happy by using “between 78% and 89% recycled materials.” Speaking from experience, the fabric is soft and strong, the cuts fit like a glove, and they flatter every body type.
The 70s-inspired print hints at a vintage, retro time when the world lived (somewhat) in a relaxed, peace-and-love mode. The cut is cute and perfect for a day in the sun, tanning (with SPF on, of course). The triangle cut with thick straps looks sturdy, featuring the cutest gathers across both the bottoms and top. The brown colour palette sends me into an immediate state of relaxation.
A surfer's dream—a pair of swimmer bottoms that don’t float right off you! I find it so difficult to find swimmers that actually stay on while surfing. Not sure why this is such a foreign concept with designs… please enlighten me if I’m alone in this! I love summer and surfing, and when the water is warm enough to surf in just swimmers, it truly feels dream-worthy.
I’ve been wearing this pair of bottoms (recently purchased) a lot lately, and I haven’t flashed a single soul. Apart from the practical reasons, I also love the 60s cut and pattern. It reminds me of the show Gidget. I’m obsessed with fashion from this era and love any chance to wear similar pieces.
I loved hearing from other women around the world! Swimwear is such an important part of summer for me, and finding a pair I feel comfortable and cute in really makes the season so much better.
